Civil weddings Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encourages  members to be married and sealed in the temple. There are times when circumstances indicate a civil ceremony: if a temple marriage would cause immediate family members to feel excluded, a civil marriage is appropriate, followed by temple marriage and sealing.
